Limited supply
Sunreef has never built in volume. The secondary market stays tight, so a well kept yacht is not competing with dozens of near identical hulls for the same buyer.

The selling side
Yachts are depreciating assets. A well built production yacht usually gives up a significant part of its build cost within the first few seasons of ownership, and a listing that sits for a long time almost always moves down rather than up. That is the normal pattern, and most owners expect nothing else.
Sunreef catamarans have run against that pattern. Across the pre-owned market, Sunreef hulls have held their asking prices more steadily than most comparable production yachts of similar age and build cost. Well documented examples tend to transact within a normal timeframe instead of drifting through a series of reductions, and the gap between what an owner paid and what the next owner pays is narrower here than in most other corners of the industry.
The practical result is a strong resale position. Owners who maintained their yacht properly and kept the paperwork in order usually find that the boat was worth buying as well as worth owning, which is not a sentence you hear often about a yacht.
Occasionally the market goes further than that. Some Sunreef hulls have changed hands at or above the price their first owner paid. A yacht that sells for more than it cost is rare enough that most brokers can only point to a handful of examples, and it happens with a small number of brands, a small number of models and a small number of individual hulls. It is not something to plan around, and we will not promise it for your yacht. It is, however, a genuine feature of this market, and it is part of why owners bring these catamarans to us instead of a general sales board.
Price stability across the range. Sunreef hulls have held asking prices more steadily than most production yachts of comparable age and build cost.
Reseller value. A documented, well maintained yacht usually resells into an active buyer pool rather than waiting out a long marketing period.
Occasionally a gain. A small number of hulls have sold at or above their original purchase price. Rare in yachting, and never a prediction for an individual boat.
Why the demand holds
Sunreef has never built in volume. The secondary market stays tight, so a well kept yacht is not competing with dozens of near identical hulls for the same buyer.
Wide beam, generous living space and layouts that still read as current years after delivery. A ten year old catamaran often looks like the better place to live next to a newer boat.
Most people searching for a used Sunreef have already ruled out other options. They arrive informed and are prepared to pay for condition rather than for a discount.
Living volume per metre of length is the argument that keeps these yachts in the comparison, and it is the argument that keeps an asking price from sliding.
Before we agree
We look at all of this before we agree to present a yacht. If the numbers do not work, we say so at the start rather than after a long marketing period.
Model, year, location and current condition are enough to begin. We will review whether the yacht fits this selection and reply directly.
